At the 10th Forest Education Congress at Burg Lockenhaus, the dependencies of the forest on climatic changes were particularly researched. Tim Martina Sch\u00e4ffer was there as a musician and presented our project \u201eTrees of Harmony\u201c, which deals with the dependence of musical instruments and the forest. Finally, wood \u2013 ideally even special sound wood \u2013 is an essential component of many instruments.\u00a0<\/p>

Trees of Harmony<\/strong><\/h2>

Trees of Harmony is dedicated to this: As a thank-you for our beautifully crafted wooden musical instruments, we want to give something back to nature: planting trees, promoting native forests, and increasing biodiversity. We support the preservation and care of appropriate tree species.

La Iluminadora<\/strong><\/h2>

Tim had also brought his very special guitar to the congress, whose history had first inspired him to the project \u201eTrees of Harmony\u201c.\u00a0

La Iluminadora \u2013 the Illuminator \u2013 is the name of the guitar built by Edmund Bl\u00f6chinger, with which he was able to perform some pieces of music at the WP Congress.<\/p>

Her fir wood cover was made from a roof beam that was installed in the Frauenkirche in Munich around 1470. When the roof was destroyed by bombs in 1945, a violin maker was able to save the wood before it was burned down and purchase it for instrument construction. It is one of the last instruments made from this wood. The fir tree germinated around 1190.\u00a0<\/div>

Moving experiences<\/strong><\/h2>

Tim himself writes about his experiences at the congress:\u00a0<\/p>

At the Congress of Forest Educators, I was allowed to create a half-hour presentation on the topic of Water and Forest using music and texts. I received a huge round of applause and saw deep, moved faces. One by one, a forester came to me, showed deep emotion at the story of my guitar, and explained that he would now see the firs differently\u2026 it had become ingrained in his consciousness\u2026 he would now handle sound wood very carefully\u2026. I can\u2019t even tell you what that means to me! I almost cried the whole way home out of emotion. \ud83e\udd72Thank you!\ud83d\ude4f<\/p>
